Although we always STRONGLY encourage customers to ask as many questions as possible, we understand that sometimes it’s more convenient to search out these questions on your own, as such we’ve attempted to answer some of these questions in this section to help you determine your next step in addressing any septic emergencies, general maintenance questions or just gathering a better awareness of one of the most expensive investments in your property that you have. We’ve also tried to supply the link to the applicable Minnesota Rules 7080-7083 (or MN Statutes) governing your specific question when possible.

Q. How often am I legally required to pump my tanks?

A. Your tanks must be accessed every three years per state code (MAINTENANCE/FREQUENCY OF ASSESSMENT)

Q. Should I use additives?

A. NO, state code and the U of M does not allow or recommend additives of any kind (MAINTENANCE/ADDITIVES)

Q. Do all my tanks have to be pumped every time?

A. Generally YES, all tanks that have a solids content of 25% or more are required to be pumped INCLUDING the lift tank if sludge is detected within 1” of the pump intake (MAINTENANCE/REMOVAL OF MATERIAL)

Q. Can tanks be pumped through the inspection pipes?

A. NO per code (MAINTENANCE/REMOVEAL OF MATERIAL/PARAGRAPH B)

Q. How can I find out more about my specific septic system?

A. Many cities or counties have a record of your systems “AS-BUILT” on file, this will tell you the date of install and many of the details you may need for proper maintenance or upgrades

Q. Do you offer after hours emergency service?

A. ABSOLUTELY!!

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?

A. We accept cash, check, credit card or Venmo (there is a 3% fee for credit cards and Venmo)

Q. Do I need to know where my man hole is?

A. It’s always helpful but we will usually take care of it. If it’s deeper then 12” there may be additional charges

Q. Do I have to be there when you come to pump my tanks?

A. We do ask that the homeowner be available for the first servicing of you system, educating the homeowner and accessing the system together is an important first step.

Q. Is a permit required to pump my tanks?

A. Sometimes depending on the city however we will submit the copy to the city and provide you with a copy as well
